1. What is your screenplay about?
My screenplay is about a leftist pariah of a staunchly conservative small town, stuck at home thanks to an incident at college, who sets out to tank her stepdad's campaign for office from the inside.

2. What genres does your screenplay fall under?
Rebellious satire and provocative comedy.

Although originally intended to be a comedy, "Bumblefuck" falls under the genre of comedy-drama. It combines witty dialogue and humorous situations with themes of social and political divisions, personal growth, and challenging the status quo.

3. Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?
It should be made into a TV Series. The question is, do I make it a half hour comedy? Or an hour-long drama? Or, plot twist, go rogue and make something 45 minutes?

Regardless of page-count, I think "Bumblefuck" should be made into a TV series for several reasons:

4. How would you describe this script in two words?
By its former title... "Operation Sabotage"

5. What movie have you seen the most times in your life?
"Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy"

It made me want to become a screenwriter. I saw this movie as a kid and was instantly inspired. I remember thinking, "Hey, wait... People can do this for a living?" I love immature jokes and raunchy humor. All I wanted was to be let into the boys' club. Now it's 2023 and we have our own club. Take that, early 2000's.

6. How long have you been working on this screenplay?
Good question. Technically since college. The characters are mostly of my family (yikes) so I've had a character bible on each of them since I first started screenwriting. It's therapeutic. Definitely recommend. Anyway, in 2023, I revisited my old bible, added some twists, kept the characters, and jumpstarted "Bumblefuck 2.0". It took me a month to write the script after almost a decade of pondering over it.

7. How many stories have you written?
That I'm proud of? Three. This is my 3rd award-winning screenplay. I have another original pilot and a South Park spec too, along with a published children's book I wrote about my dog. So, four. Four stories and counting.

8. What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the
most times in your life?)
Oof. Hard question. The song I've listened to the most times in my life is probably... "No Scrubs" by TLC. It was my ringtone in high school.

9. What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?
Rewrites were my biggest obstacle. Also finding ways to disassociate my story's characters from the people I was loosely basing them off of. I struggled to separate the two and it took a bit of stepping away and reworking their exposition to finally make them their own complex, dynamic characters - and not just replicas of the original.

10. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Well, I'm obsessed with my dog, Duck (the one I wrote my children's book about). So I could talk about her all day, but I'm also passionate about certain social issues and advocating for organizations and hot topics like Planned Parenthood, LGBTQ+ rights, climate change, and the Jewish Federation. I'm opinionated and I feel my voice bleeds through into my work.

11. You entered your screenplay via FilmFreeway. What has been your
experiences working with the submission platform site?
My experience has been incredible. No complaints. I'm never butt hurt when I don't win and I'm always surprised when I do.

12. What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings
on the initial feedback you received?
It's a festival that had rave reviews and the feedback was very helpful. I love when festivals offer feedback, it's a tremendous resource for the screenwriter.
