1. What is your screenplay about?

The four Lubbock sisters, from the late-80s cult classic "Just the Ten of Us", are suddenly together again after a rapid succession of reunions. The youngest, Connie, is stuck in a dead-end job at a dead-end television station in Tampa. She's stuck in a rut; but sees some welcome change when her father, Graham, comes to live with her for a little while. Little does she know that her younger brother, the outrageous Harvey, is in tow. Before long, her other sisters; the manic Marie, the gold digging Wendy, and the spacey Cindy, all come to Connie looking for refuge from the consequences of their own personal failures.

2. What genres does your screenplay fall under?

Comedy mostly, though there are some dramatic elements.

3. Why should this screenplay be made into a series?

I think the better question is "can it be made into a series?". The answer to that is: it depends. If the original cast wants to get back together, and the rights holders want to make it, then sure. But it has a lot more obstacles than a typical pilot would face. As to the "why?", it's going to have an overarching theme that I think is very important these days: fighting cynicism. Here are four sisters, all at their respective low points and entering the final half of their lives, deciding for themselves that it isn't too late to chase those dreams they once had when times were still good. Plus, these are just awesome characters that Dan Guntzelman and Steve Marshall (and in the case of Graham, David Kendall) created. It would be so fun to see them interacting with the modern world.

4. How would you describe this script in two words?

Fun melancholy.

5. What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

UHF ("You get to drink from...the fire hose!!!")

6. How long have you been working on this screenplay?

Only a few months.

7. How many stories have you written?

I have actually been writing Just the Ten of Us fan fiction since last fall. I know fan fiction is considered by some to be the height of cringe; but I just felt this overwhelming, almost cosmic, compulsion to continue this unfairly cancelled family's story. It takes place in a separate universe where another network picked it up, and the show got to continue. I also have another few pilot ideas rattling around in my head, but I'd like to hone my craft a bit more before I venture into that.

8. What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)

Making Love In The Rain by Herb Alpert (and produced by the incomparable Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis)

9. What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

Making it good. I'm still pretty new at this, so it took me a few drafts to make the story flow, as opposed to writing a bunch of loosely connected vignettes.

10. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Travelling the USA, mostly. I've also become a bit of a music snob, even though I can't tell a quarter note apart from Quarter Pounder.
