POEM:
Blinding rays searing my flesh
laying in the clear cool liquid
afloat, drifting
the only time the smell of salt isn't a bother
kaw kaw over yonder
empty thoughts
inhale
darkness on my lids
and no care where the sea takes me
a continuous exhale
summoning a humming vibration
soft against my skin, and firm enough to keep me from being swallowed
cradled in a lullaby
silence in surround sound
peering out of my weightless abode
gravity grabs me again
dragging me to the shoreline
the white crystals piercing my feet
stop, looking down at concrete
