POEM:
In The Storm
in the storm
I’m alive
under fog
from the deep
by the sea
where her voice
to me waves
for release
oh, she waves
yes, she calls
in the song
of the sea:
“Will you Hear me.”
so I reach
for her hand
and I try
to call back
for my heart
has been torn
like a limb
on the rack
but the lap
of her touch
is yet still
out of reach:
“Will you Hold me”
she was here
it was real
now just sand
in my hands
for the tide
does not care
for my sad
little plans
now she sinks
yes she falls
by the will
of the storm
“Will you Save me”
here I am
all alone
on the shore
of a prayer
by the sea
where my voice
to her cries
in despair
so I wave
yes I call
to the song
of the sea
“Will you believe me.”

POEM:Adam Lives in Principal
My child breathes inside of me
I am nothing when he’s born
I am woman larger than before
Like the moon plummeting to Earth when gravity falls,
sliding down beneath my back,
pushing and raising my stomach to the sky,
offering me
as I am ...
