BLUE PEARL UNDER THE SEA
by Ardalan Pourvali
In twilights dusk, where coral reefs sway,
an empress dwells beneath the waves gray.
With tresses of hair, like golden seaweed,
she reigns; a blue pearl - carefree.
Searching the bayside;
Nature Man hunts for lost treasure.
Shuttered to the truth of Pearl's eyes!
Stealing Blue's faithfulness.
Hardhearted to her love cries.
One day Nature Man found himself awake.
The shore swept Pearl off her feet.
Her shell was in new hands.
His Reformed eyes saw through the sea.
Bewildered, pearl was out of sight.
Nature Man's head had fallen.
His heart was anguished.
Refusing to accept defeat.
He dove the deepest aquatic.
Fishing for his luster shell.
His jewel was a boss chick,
and his yearning came to a quell.
He propelled his limbs through the ocean,
In search of his goddess gem.
Swimming with sharks in motion;
the danger of leviathan.
His gills breathe saltwater.
Feet grounded at the seabed.
Palms praying to a sunlit surface
"She's gone!" Said Neptune.
"Her tail fin swims for a purpose.
Your sail drifted astray.
The shell was not grasped,
Pearl's breath was taken away."
Convinced she's in sight.
To Neptune he prostrates,
"Grant me another fight.
I'll swim 10,000 lakes!"
Riding the flukes of dolphins,
in search of baby pearl.
Nature Man flippers through bays and marlins,
to catch his blue mermaid girl.
The mermaids' choir, her loyal band,
"Echo songs!" Neptune commands.
"Oh, baby blue, beneath the sea,
We long to hear your symphony!"
Nature Man's voice quivers,
"Swim back, blue pearl!"
submerged with soft whispers,
It's pitch black through constricted pupils.
With a whale's breath he simpers,
Pearl's blue heart is set free.
bittersweet memories in abyss,
swept by tides of ecstasy.
