Director Statement
One of the heroes of Costa Rica is Vernon Arias, a biologist by profession, who dreamed of returning to the Nicoya Peninsula its flagship bird: the Scarlet Macaw or Macaw - as it is known locally. This majestic bird that painted the skies of the peninsula red had a decline in its population to the point of considering it missing, so, Vernon began his work, after years of work to achieve nesting in captivity and subsequent reintegration of the bird into its habitat, The skies of Nicoya are once again taken over by the Lapa, a generation did not see it, now, the children are the ones who understand and defend the importance of this animal in their territory. Vernon's work also includes social intervention through education for the protection of the Macaw.
