- The change of the audience not caring whether the main character is a good guy or not. We just wanted characters who were real.

- Not wanting to see a TV show or movie sell out and give us a happy ending and wrap up an unrealistic finale in the last 20 minutes and wrap things up.

- The evil mother plot that excited many people because....many people also had an evil mother.

- Tony lives in self-pity. The pilot episode reveals the entire series from the start. Tony can't get better because he blames eveyone else for his issues and not himself.
