Putli Kewalramani is making her granddaughter’s favourite dish. However, she starts getting flashbacks from her time in Nawabshah, Sindh, during the partition of 1947.

In 1994, Munirka, New Delhi. Putli Kewalramani is cheerily preparing Bhee Patata, a Sindhi delicacy, for her eager granddaughter. In the process of cooking, she reminisces about her time near the riverbanks of the Sindhu River. However, this doesn’t last long as she gets triggering flashbacks from her time of the 1947 partition. Grief washes Putli over yet she rationalises it by believing that it is because of the act of cooking itself. Yet, as fate would have it, a chance encounter with silver utensils triggers an agonising memory, paralysing her with shock and sorrow.
