Purchased by Christina's mother in California, the toy, named ALAN, remains by her side as she grows into a young woman on the verge of becoming a doctor. However, ALAN becomes aware of its own mortality and the possibility of losing its human companion. Determined to defy fate, it embarks on a quest for a new existence, utilizing synthetic biology, artificial intelligence, and ultimately teleportation to quantum entangle its soul with Christina's forever.
