Get to know the writer:
What is your short story about?
When The Stars Fall Quiet is a bleak outlook on who we are in the end, stripped away down to the bare survival, and only fragments, robotic companions are reminders that help us to stay human.
2. What genre(s) would you say this story is in?
Horror, Dystopian
3. How would you describe this story in two words?
Chilling and Captivating
4. What movie have you seen the most in your life?
I have seen so many, many movies, but only some still remain with me. One of those movies would be Impostor with Gary Sinise's character, Spencer Olham living in a dark, fearful time, where your identify, humanity could be easily stripped away, but yet, we hold to the memories, the moments that help keep us human.
5. Do you remember the time in your life when you realized that you
wanted to write?
It took me a very long time to embrace the concept of even being a writer, but I began that journey in high school, filling my pages not of schoolwork but short story after short story after short story.
6. Do you have an all-time favorite novel?
Charlotte Sometimes by Penelope Farmer
7. What is your favorite meal?
I don't like to limit myself to one kind of food. I love Japanese, Mexican and Indian food, but if I had to choose a favorite, then it would be sushi. Just hold the Wasabi.
8. If you could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), who would
that be?
Seth MacFarlane. It was interesting seeing his involvement with the series, Cosmos, but what was really amazing were the storylines for the series, The Orville. He did not steer away from the controversial topics but fired right through them, warping us into dystopian stories where the clicks rule or the males dominate, and the dance of What If? What if they never got together? Would the world end? Apparently, and each storyline is masterfully woven with light and laughter and darkness and oblivion.
9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Photography
10. Any advice or tips you'd like to pass on to other writers?
I fell into a depression and gave up writing, and I will never get that time back or the ideas I could have written. Just find a way to go forward. You fall apart, pull yourself back together, no matter how long it takes, and go back to writing.
