Logline:
A washed up, hard drinking theatre guy gets forced back to his small
hometown when his mom is dying, and with his chaotic friend group as
backup, he has to finally face family mess, old love, and the question
of whether he can grow up before life makes the choice for him.
The story starts, as it did, after a night of hard drinking. This is a
typical story, but it is totally from the writer's perspective. As the
writer gets closer and closer to 60, there are a lot of things he's
missed. One thing he hasn't missed is his circle of friends. What he
didn't realize as a whole was all the things the others have missed. He
tells a story of how our problems are so focused on us, we forget the
people in our lives have problems too, and if we work as a team, life is
more palatable.
In the world of self absorption, we writer forgot to open up to the
hands up that were always there, especially in the realm of love. A
Touch of Grey is a story about a group of friends that nearly give up on
opportunities, like success and love as they are staring them in the
face.
