Yakaru Talibé ( A Beggar's Dream ), 1min., Senegal
Directed by Cheikh Sidate Niang
Modou is a young talibé (child who begs on the street) who is a fan of soccer, especially of the Senegalese player Sadio Mané. His dream is to one day get the Senegal team’s jersey. On his way home with his fellow talibés (beggar children), they stop in front of a store where Sadio Mané's jersey is displayed. We see on his face his love for soccer and for the player. Modou plunges into a dream where he sees his life better than that of a street child.
