When a notorious Internet troll appears on a live streaming video podcast to debate the existence of Sasquatch with Bigfoot believers, the fur flies when he's challenged by an ape-suited prankster claiming to be the legendary beast!
Narrator: Hannah Ehman
Paranormal Prankster: Geoff Mays
Get to know the writer:
1. What is your screenplay about? It's a comedic take on paranormal podcasts and talk shows in which a prankster dons a Bigfoot costume and debates an Internet troll.
2. What genres does your screenplay fall under? It's a comedy, and broad one at that.
3. Why should this screenplay be made into a movie? It's structured as a pilot for a potential series, and the subject matter (monsters, ghosts, UFOs, taking on both super-serious skeptics and believers) offers lots of possibilities for future episodes.
4. How would you describe this script in two words? Pure goofiness.
5. What movie have you seen the most times in your life? The original "Star Wars." I stopped counting how many times I'd seen it when I was about 12. I think it's safe to say I've seen it over one hundred times.
6. How long have you been working on this screenplay? I worked the general idea out in my head for a few weeks and then spent roughly a month or so working on the actual script.
7. How many stories have you written? Too many to count. I've been working professionally as a writer and producer since 1993. I've written for everything from True Crime TV series to English-language anime adaptations that have aired on The Cartoon Network.
8. What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?) Ooh, that's a hard one. Can't really say, but probably anything from U2's "The Unforgettable Fire."
9. What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay? None really. I wrote it primarily for fun and to exorcise an idea that kept bouncing around in my head.
10. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about? My wife and my dog.
11. You entered your screenplay via FilmFreeway. What has been your experiences working with the submission platform site? My experience has been very good with Film Freeway. It's an easy way to keep track of projects and submissions.
12. What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received? Honestly, I wanted to see what kind of reaction I'd get with this highly goofy script. I've been shocked at the success rate. It's gotten accepted and placed highly in a number of Comedy scriptwriting fests. It also gives me the chance to annoyingly boast to people, "See, somebody aside from myself thinks I'm funny!"
