The hobgoblin Vorlux steals a witch's enchanted book, thinking it will make him rich. Together with the goblin Stenchella, they attempt to cast a spell, but the recipe goes wrong and they accidentally create a portal to the human world. Upon entering it, they kidnap a man. Their boss, Banshee, recognizes the Author and orders them to return him.
