Get to know the writer:
1. What is your screenplay about?
"When Ian reluctantly plans a bachelor party for his college friends, confronting his past demons transforms into a desperate bid for survival when a group on their party bus has a very different definition of raising hell."
2. What genres does your screenplay fall under?
Horror with a bit of comedy thrown into the mix.
3. Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?
I believe STAG NIGHT is unique in that it's a horror born out of the all too common issues of people pleasing and excuse making. People will go so far out of their way to avoid conflict and make others happy that they will end up in situations they know they shouldn't.
4. How would you describe this script in two words?
Murder Bus
5. What movie have you seen the most times in your life?
CHASING AMY
6. How long have you been working on this screenplay?
This screenplay took me roughly 4 months to get in a good spot.
7. How many stories have you written?
I have written three pilots, two features, and six shorts.
8. What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)
These Days - Jackson Browne
9. What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?
My main obstacle was self imposed. After not making the headway I had wanted, I gave myself the ultimatum of either finishing the script in one month, or running a marathon. I found my motivation improved real fast.
10. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Outside of being a writer I am also a comedian, musician, and rock climber.
11. You entered your screenplay via FilmFreeway. What has been your experiences working with the submission platform site?
So far I've very much enjoyed working with Filmfreeway and how you can see real feedback from festivals before submitting.
12. What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?
This festival I entered once before with a short and did not place, which fueled the fire for me to enter again with a feature. The feedback I have gotten for STAG NIGHT has absolutely blown me away and also made very clear that the reader was knowledgeable, thorough, and above all else, "got it".
