Revolution X is a time-twisting film of good against evil. It tells a story of humanity and the grounding, undeniable power of human will. Through the juxtaposition of positive and negative forces, the consequences of disregard to our individual purposes, parallels the liberation that comes with empathy and connection. By transcending time and reality, the dual narrative explores the debate of nature vs nurture, and their impact on the film rejects conventions of mainstream sci-fi that conforms to an action orientated spectacle, and instead focuses on the why rather than the what, allowing for a thought provoking production.

Get to know the filmmaker:

1. What motivated you to make this film?

I love anything to do with time travel, but I wanted to try and make a film that reject the conventions of mainstream sci-fi films, and instead focuses on the why rather than the what. To produce a really gritty first film, a caustic collision of beauty and abrasion, where the abrasion slowly grinds it's way deep into the human soul, to produce a thought-provoking kick ass Sci Fi film. Something quite cruel in parts, that mirror life at times, but then also had the sun shine, daydream. I also feel as a society we have lost connection with our spiritual side, so I wanted hints of the importance of the human soul through the film, like the Daydream charity, and I left little easter eggs in the film for people to figure out, what my next film is about, and also the three door theme that runs through the film. Ancient lost civilizations used this in most of there pyramids, it symbolizes our third eye, and the importance of balance in the world. Did you also notice the connection to the last supper painting.

2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?

About 16 months.

3. How would you describe your film in two words!?

Cruel beautiful.

4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?

Nailing the VFX in the film with a small budget, it also didn't help the fact that a London based VFX studio didn't finish the work( it was also shit which we couldn't use ) then refused to give us back our £10,000. Luckily we found a VFX wizard in New Zealand who helped us.

5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?

A massive buzz, Its my first ever audience feed back, so I was on a massive high after listening to it, thank you.

6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?

I've always had strong creative ideas, and I also have the skill base to make it happen, so 6 years ago I thought I would change my career and make it happen. Head in the clouds but feet on the ground.

7. What film have you seen the most in your life?

Interstellar.

8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?

Have as many contacts in the industry as possible that can help make it happen for us.

9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?

Its been really good, and made life far easier and film festivals far more accessible for first time film makers.

10. What is your favorite meal?

A good steak.

11. What is next for you? A new film?

Yes called The Tenth Planet, we are already in pre production, budget 6 million, so moving up the ladder, it's a thought provoking Sci Fi film.
