Director Statement
I only make movies about topics that are either very important to me or send me on a journey of discovery. Filmmaking for me is not a job, it's a passion. It's a tool to push boundaries and break taboos. It's an intrigue to start having conversations about uneasy topics and to step into uncharted territories of discovery. Discovering myself and the world around me. As a psychologist, I am a good listener and I am always interested in the complexity of the human mind and behavior. And as a Middle-Eastern female filmmaker, I feel a great responsibility to be authentic and non-judgmental... to represent marginalized communities... to claim my own rightful voice and to be a voice for those forcefully silenced.
