Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
I was researching fo publishers for an artist book I created in 2020 and bumped into an artist who is also musician and made a interpretation of Artauds Radioplay. I wanted to cooperate in the first place but did not realize the project and made caprice x². First I was interested in the dancing scene of the play but spared the whole part out for inter. I knew Delleuzes Texts about Artaud also and wanted to take a closer look. He said once that a film is not as performative than a film and that really had my attention. What cached my eye was that Artaud thematized loads of fears and anger in his theatre work and that was basically the idea. I realized the project on my own as I wanted to have a womans voice for inter and processed a lot of personal stuff with internet and social media as well with art. I kind of voved my personal experience and Artauds Radioplay together. It is also kind of equivalent to radio – internet. I changed the text a little bit and wanted to use shadow drawings and shadow theatre technique mixed with „real“ sequences.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
Hard to say. It took my ages. I wasn´t working regular on the film and collected sequences about 3 years time. At one point I was fed up with drawing and collecting and cutted really quick in about 3 weeks.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
This is a question I can´t answer as I don´t know.
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
I had huge motivation problems. The drawing work was long-winded, exhausting and boring. I drew for the binary codes about 1 and a half months in a row and needed long breaks inbetween.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
Positive. I knew the film is not easy going. One feedback really shocked me, but the thought was interesting and moved me. The whole feedback was as if the story is continuing in different directions. I had the feeling that I understood Artaud in inter.
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
When I drew my first sequence, a jumping ball.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
I´m afraid I have to admit that it is „Better of dead“ with John Cusack.
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
I think you´re doing really good work in promoting and the whole organisation. I also like the idea of feedback videos.
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
Filmfreeway is safe and easy. My favourite platform.
10. What is your favorite meal?
At the moment I don´t have any favourites.
11. What is next for you? A new film?
I´m writing poems and want to read music theory. Maybe a visual poetry book.
