In the wildland of Alaska, a lonely Downy Woodpecker hears an unexpected response to his drumming. Driven by his desire to find a mate, he embarks on an adventure that takes him deep into a cave. Surprised to find himself facing his own reflection, he strikes with anger the wall and weakens the ice that collapses. Fortunately, he gets out in time and finds himself in the heart of an open-pit mine where a machine drums the ground.
