What is your screenplay about?
The world's greatest romance novelist has given up on love due to long-standing grief but will his blossoming relationship with a younger man lead to a new chapter or the same tragic ending?
2. What genre does your screenplay fall under?
It's a romantic comedy with a poignant center.
3. Why should your screenplay be made into a movie?
Our screenplay is hilarious and emotionally charged. It combines the classic romantic comedy elements with more serious themes related to AIDS and grief. And certainly more diverse stories from more diverse voices are needed.
4. How would you describe this script in two words?
Hilarious and poignant.
5. What movie have you seen the most in your life?
Suzy: The Thing and Big Trouble in Little China
Fernando: King Kong (the original) and The Thing
6. How long have you been working on the screenplay?
About 6 months.
7. How many stories have you written?
This is our third feature and we have 2 shorts produced. Our two previous features are also graphic novels.
8.What is your favorite song?
Suzy: Tiny Dancer
Fernando: Beethoven's 5th Symphony
9. What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?
Time. Finding the time to write is always an issue for us. Plus, "... comedy is hard."
10. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Suzy: Serving the community and petting any dog I see.
Fernando: Environmental issues and animal rescue.
11. What has been your experiences with FilmFreeway.
We like the organization and simplicity of the platform. Most things are in one place and we don't enter contests more than once. Plus we get notifications about relevant competitions.
12. What influenced you to enter the contest?
The WILDsound brand is well -respected and writer friendly. The LGBT Festival has screenwriting competitions that look for diversity and provides critical feedback. The feedback we received was thoughtful and helpful.
