GENERATIONS OF PULSE, 12min., USA, Documentary
Directed by Dallin Mello, Tamera Moore
In the face of unrelenting legislative discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community in Florida, three people directly impacted by the Pulse Nightclub shooting become activists to expand their protections.
Director Statement
Both Tamera and Dallin have extensive experience in reporting on the communities represented in Generations of Pulse. Dallin was the chair of NLGJA at UC Berkeley and has reported on LGBTQ issues for the past 4 years, Tamera is a member of NABJ and has experience reporting on diverse communities, her last piece explored Black maternal health across the United States. Both Tamera and Dallin have taken courses and workshops on trauma based reporting, which they worked to implement that skillset in Generations of Pulse.
We've learned so much from people in this film and continue to carry these lessons in our works today. We hope to honor their experiences, both the traumatic and the resilient.
