Beauty Sleep
In a cold and murky water,
Upon a flowered, and blooming land.
Lays the bones,
and treasured objects,
Of a long lost and missing man.
Fish feed on the decayed remnants,
Pebbles collect the remaining scum.
His skin, devoured long ago,
The currents washed away his blood.
The chirps of a wooded evening,
Luminous swells from a silver moon.
My love, we strolled along the bank,
Yet his cadaver spoils her view.
Disbelief,
From the gory scene.
A curse, befalls this romance.
She howls in to the night,
As she sees plainly, my plan.
My hand feels for a rock.
My disposition, cold.
And with the rise,
Of the morning sun,
This River grave will be your home.
Next to his bones, now she lays.
Her hair strewn,
through the golden sands.
An empty stare, from sunken eyes.
Rigor mortis in her hands.
