RESTORING HOPE, 6min., USA
Directed by Sofia Ridgway, Jen Won, Nika Iverson
We are Sofia Ridgway, Nika Iverson, and Jen Won, three high school seniors who, before our senior year, filmed this documentary to explore coral restoration and the challenges facing coral reefs worldwide. With equipment borrowed from our school and little prior experience using a camera, we approached this project with curiosity and determination. We connected with coral scientists and other interviewees in the Florida Keys through countless emails and Zoom calls, and gained hands-on experience at ex-situ coral nurseries and out-planting sites.
