After Ranga Perera's family moved to the U.S. from Sri Lanka, he tragically lost his father to an unexpected heart attack. While coping with the loss of his father, he found himself in Montana where he was drawn to the magic of fly fishing and the solace of the river. Throughout his journey, he struggles to rediscover his childlike wonder and finds comfort in his time spent on the water. After a confrontation with his own mortality, Ranga learns the importance of mindfulness and living life with an open heart.

Director Biography - Tom Attwater
Tom works as a film producer, director, cinematographer and editor as well as a still photographer. He is originally from the Great Plains, but has since planted his roots in the mountains of Montana. In the past he has worked seasonally as a backcountry instructor and river guide. In 2016, he graduated from the University of Montana with a BFA in Media Arts and Digital Video Production.
Director Statement
As a visual storyteller, Tom's ultimate goal is to bring the core of the story to the surface with subtle but powerful and creative techniques that encourage the audience to engage in the story. As an artist, he hopes to inspire other creative minds while having a positive influence on anyone viewing his work.
