1. What motivated you to make this film?
I was motivated to create this film by a desire to not only highlight the pioneering work of Ana Mendieta but also to reimagine her practice in a contemporary context. The 3D animation was chosen as the medium to reinterpret her profound connection with nature and groundbreaking performance art with a modern lens.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
Despite the intricate process of conceptualization, 3D modeling, and final animation, I managed to complete this film in a span of just six months. This was a solo endeavor that allowed me to delve deeply into the creative process.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Reimagining Mendieta
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
Rather than being an obstacle, the creative challenge of this project was reinterpreting Mendieta's earth-body performances through 3D animation. It was crucial to strike a balance between representing her unique artistic style and adding my own creative interpretation.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
Observing the audience's reactions and discussions about the film was an enlightening experience. It was rewarding to see the varying perspectives and interpretations, and their feedback will certainly inform my future works.

My passion for filmmaking ignited during my time in art school. The power of visual storytelling, its ability to elicit deep emotions, truly fascinated me.

The film I've watched most in my life is "Interstellar". Its intricate narrative and stunning visuals continue to captivate and inspire me.
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
I believe the festival could further support filmmakers by providing more opportunities for networking, hosting in-depth discussions about different aspects of filmmaking.
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
I've had a positive experience with FilmFreeway. The platform is efficient and intuitive, making the submission process straightforward and user-friendly.
10. What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal is Pyongyang-style cold noodles, a classic Korean dish. The combination of its refreshing taste and the unique texture of the noodles brings me great enjoyment every time I have it.
11. What is next for you? A new film?
As for my future plans, I'm gearing up to create another animated film. This project will delve deeper into the complex relationship between humans and their environment, continuing the thematic exploration that I started with "Ana Mendieta if."
