Get to know the filmmaker:
1. What motivated you to make this film?
I received a request from a low budget producer in Los Angeles to write a screenplay - low, low budget - with two parameters: just two actors in one room. I didn't think that much about it at the time. Weeks later I began to rethink it. It could be an interesting writing exercise. So I started writing. I finished it and put it in a drawer. Months later I read it again and realized it was pretty good. I then decided to make the film myself.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you
to make this film?
About two and a half years.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Fall and Redemption
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
Money
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking
about your film in the feedback video?
Vindication, satisfaction that the audience is so knowledgable to get it, to intelligently understand what my characters are about.
6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
Ever since grade school when my buddy John and I shot gangster films with his dad's 8mm camera.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
Casablanca
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other
festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking
career?
Make part of the Best Feature Prize a contract with Jennifer Lawrence to be in my next film.
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your
experiences been working on the festival platform site?
Very satisfied with FilmFreeway.
10. What is your favorite meal?
Spaghetti Bolognese
11. What is next for you? A new film?
I'm working on two screenplays at present. One I would love to shoot, but only if I can get Jennifer Lawrence cast. Which means, of course, that it will never get made.
