Get to know the writer:
1. What is your screenplay about?
Well, to be completely honest, what I had submitted was a brand new project comprised of concepts and ideas from other screenplays I've worked on and am currently working on. But, ultimately it came from 2 works in particular. One surrounding a world-renowned, jack-of-all-trades, Metaphysicist/Anthropologist/Philosopher, Professor and Adult club owner. And another, involving a teenager, discovering he is the product of the chimerazation of a human embryo, and the genectically-designed embryo of ancient Annunaki royalty. But, I could see myself expanding upon this new hybrid.
2. What genres does your screenplay fall under?
There are so many elements and concepts -- a bit supernatural, sci-fi, etc. -- that make up this concept. But, as it is, and could be, I would say it is a Psychological Dramedy Thriller.
3. Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?
I believe it approaches familiar tropes and ideals from a perspective, not usually revered or even allowed to be explored in modern society. And, weather ideas are agreeable or not, ultimately, it would be a good time getting to the end.
4. How would you describe this script in two words?
Cynically Daring.
5. What movie have you seen the most times in your life?
Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
6. How long have you been working on this screenplay?
Honestly, it's difficult to say how many years. The concept has evolved in many forms. And still, as it is now, I'm excited to see what it could be.
7. How many stories have you written?
Dozens of plays and screenplays. A lot of unfinished content. Life gets in the way and all.
8. What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the
most times in your life?)
I can't say for sure. But, for some reason, I have been listening to the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song a lot lately.
9. What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?
Finding the time and peace of mind to be able to focus. But, you find it because you love it.
10. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Directing and producing. Being able to be in a position to steer a project or other artists forward. If I got in a position to do so, and being no stranger to it, I would say acting as well.
11. You entered your screenplay via FilmFreeway. What has been your
experiences working with the submission platform site?
This has been an amazing experience. Your platform gives a great opportunity for writers to comfortably and conveniently ask the proverbial question: "Hey, what do you think?" I am grateful for this platform for challenging me to approach writing from a different angle, and the chance to hear my words spoken by talented actors.
12. What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings
on the initial feedback you received?
I read about the festival. And it seemed like a great opportunity to further my development as a writer. And having done so, it has provided me with more confidence and drive to move forward.
