When You Look Down At Me, by Margaret High.

When you look down at me
My body is old and frail
I'm not just a number on a hospital band
My movements as slow as a snail

I'm somebody's mother or sister
Someone's wife or very good friend
Once healthy and independent
Now this is where it all ends

Look at me with kindness
Be gentle when moving me around
Please show common decency
To insure I'm covered and gowned

I can see if you are genuine
I can feel if you are angry or mad
Just by how you treat me
It feels so hopeless and sad

When you look down on me
One day you may see your reflection
Then you will understand
All it takes is a little.....affection
