Many have a passion for movies but until you try to actually make one, that passion ultimately just manifests itself into well-defined butt imprints on theater stadium seats. Of course, if you choose wisely young Padawan, the time spent with the silver screen can provide hours of thought-provoking escapism and/or mind-numbing entertainment - ideally, a healthy balance of both.
Since graduating from Ryerson University's Radio & Television Arts program rez has excelled in several aspects of the entertainment industry but although the passion for movies was always there, filmmaking is not one of them. First, it was winning a Surround Sound Music Award for his music engineering/mixing work (Beverly Hills, CA). Then, creating, producing and hosting a #1 rated commercial radio show in the city in which he resides, Toronto. Next, launching the career of (1 year later) one of the biggest names in Toronto's exciting music scene, Famous. His voice can be heard nationally on TV through his voice work and he even teaches the University class he once attended.
With all his success in the fields of music, radio, video and education, rez's underlying passion for movies continued to help harden cushions in theaters around the world. Meanwhile, his itch to actually make movies started to grow and ultimately fester. In 2011, and with a strong team of industry friends and associates, rez finally entered the world of filmmaking with his directorial debut, Esha.
A timeless love story rooted in a timely social issue, Esha (a short film) shows great potential for this sincere and ambitious new filmmaker. Seat cushions beware.
