Michael Bay was born in 1965 in California, and raised by adoptive parents. His career trajectory began in the realm of advertising and videos, where his future signature of “bang for the buck” was imbedded.

His first feature film, Bad Boys, was a huge box-office, if not critical, success, and laid the path for Michael’s succession of blockbuster crowd-pleasers.

His work consistently emphasizes action and effects over subtlety of acting or writing. Bay claims his biological father is director John Frankenheimer.
