Leon studied as a visual artist in graphic design (typography) and motion graphics at the London College of Communication before later co-founding the production company Reel Projections, where he first developed his skills as a director, producer, cinematographer and editor. Reel Projections produced dynamic music and promotional videos, socially aware gritty documentaries and thought provoking films. Reel projects also produced a ground-breaking film installation called 'Psychos-is?'. In 2006 'Our Fate' one of the films featured in the installation went on to win the prize of Best Newcomer at the Portabello Film Festival, the UK’s biggest Independent film competition.
For the past three years Leon has taught film making to classes of young aspiring filmmakers from the ages of 7 to 21 and specializes in teaching film to hard to reach adolescents who have previously shown to be detached from education. These specific classes are designed to help the young people express their creativity though film and moving image.
Victim, Leon’s silent eight minute short premiered at the Portabello Film Festival in September 2010 and was nominated for the prize of Best Screenplay along side other feature length films. Victim was also featured at the 2011 Cannes Shorts Film Corner, receiving positive reviews. Victim then later won an Award of Merit in July 2011 from the Best Shorts Competition.
