– Born in 1970 in New Jersey, a locale featured prominently in his films, Smith attended the Vancouver Film School.

He wrote, directed and produced his first feature Clerks in 1994, which was awarded and picked up at Sundance.

The success of Clerks lead the way for Kevin to continue with similarly subversive (and cast) films such as Chasing Amy (’97) and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (‘01); until 2004’s Jersey Girl, which proved one of the most vilified films of the decade. Smith continues to be active in filmmaking and acting.
