James Mangold - Born in New York in 1963, Mangold pursued film studies in his later education. Achieving industry attention early on, he worked at screenwriting and development until directing his first feature Heavy in 1995.

Mangold followed this modest debut by writing and directing the acclaimed films Cop Land (1997), and Girl, Interrupted (1999). The same dual roles for 2005’s Walk the Line solidified James’s prestige in the industry.

Mangold’s early successes have so far produced two Academy Awards for actresses.
