Howard Deutch: Born in New York in 1950, Deutch began his career in advertising and video directing.

His feature directorial debut was the ‘Brat Pack’ classic, 1986’s Pretty in Pink, followed by Some Kind of Wonderful (on which he met his wife Lea Thompson).

Howard also directs television, notably helming the pilot of iconic series Melrose Place.
