GREGORIO MURO ARRIET
Born in Hernani (Gipuzkoa) on May 13, 1954, began to cultivate his love of film and fiction since childhood, when he accompanied his father into the projection room of an old cinema.Combining his studies first and then work with the development of comics, he published his first albums in the early 80's in local magazines as publishers and Erein, Ttarttalo, Elkar and Habe ( Habekomik, Ipurbeltz, Zipristin, Puxka Muxka ... .)
However, he preferred the scripts to the drawing and decided to partner with a number of artists who will be responsible partners in the illustration. Stories like Justin Hiriart , The Mark of the Witch , Simon Besaluze achieved a huge success and a widely opened the doors to the international market. His comics were first translated into French, Danish, Italian, German, English ... and the most important publishers in Europe were interested in editing these stories. Recognition awards as not long in coming: the Targa Unicef Prix Festival of Lucca (Italy) in 1984, the Award for Best Writer 's Festival of Castilla y Leon in 1985, nomination Prix Alfred Angouleme Festival (France ) in 1988 for Best Screenplay Award from the Journal of the Canary Islands in 1989, the Golden Laurel guild of booksellers from France in 1990, the Betty Boop Festival Hyeres (France) in 1992, and so on.
