BROKEN UNITY, Adrianna Joleigh.
A Unity candle, incinerated with a flame of passion,
is smothered by sin.
Vicious vengeance of an unyielding tempest,
never forgives again.
Her heart no longer beats to the rhythm
that they once shared.
Bleeding out onto the floor,
weaving through glass by the chair.
Dressed in a hat of confusion,
heart limps across her shoulder.
Feeling the chills from an iced heart,
the air around her grows colder.
Butterflies of lust abandon her stomach,
and fragile trusts wait to crumble.
Prejudice play the strings of a puppet-heart,
leaving her broken and humbled.
Trusting no longer what her heart tells her to feel,
nor does she trust her mind to stay.
Spade tail of the Devil stabs the remains of her faith.
Horns of sin she arises to play.
Stubborn hearts and distasteful regrets
guide them both to disaster.
Scorching all expectations of a prospected
'Happily Ever After.'
Heart took flight at the first sign of trouble,
negating to forgive and forget.
Cloth of disparity swathe her eyes,
saturating their past, she laments.
Only courage for a violin-plucked soul
hides away in its memories.
Depleting heart dances in its familiarity,
adding another souvenir casualty.
Tears prickle her cheeks,
lips spasm and quake.
Fear of the unknown. The what ifs taunt,
with the last breath she takes.
Weightless love whispers against gravity,
fighting the ache to exist.
Cupid thrusts the splinters of an old arrow,
to revive her misplaced trist.
Melody if shards pierce her lungs,
rendering her breathless and confused.
Hypnotized by the spiraling affections,
fickle promises and bemused.
She arose from the grave passion,
uniting with her tortured soul.
Tears stain the blond hairs on her cheeks
as she concludes....
to die is to live and to love as a whole.
