Alexis Barbosa is a French actor and director. After studying theatre at high-school, he trained as an actor in Paris. He directed and acted in two shorts plays at the Théâtre du Rond-Point on the Champs-Elysées.
He has also acted in many short films at the FEMIS (Fondation Européenne pour les Métiers de l’Image et du Son, in Paris), including L’Esclave de Magellan, selected for the Cannes festival). Since 2009, he has been a student at the national theatre school ENSATT, in Lyon.
He is a self-taught film-maker, and directed his first short film, Le Collectionneur de Cris, in 2010, before going on to create a video-clip I Know for a song by David Lynch: both were awarded national prizes.
In 2011 Alexis Barbosa directed a second short film Bloody Mary, coming out soon.
